After meeting in Lithgow and topping up the trip leader’s caffeine levels, we will depart town on the Great Western Highway. Our plan is to explore the Marrangaroo National Park— former farmland that has been converted into National Park and around the Turon river and Lake Lyall area. This will see us take on a range of tracks from easy to moderate, with several easy river crossings as well. We’ll then head off towards Sunny Corner where we’ll make camp for the night on the town common. Departing in the morning, we’ll proceed into the Sunny Corner area and follow the Turon River through to the Turon National Park before finishing up at the town of Capertee on Sunday. Please be prepared for all seasons, we may be swimming in the rivers, or equally huddled around a fire pit—more than likely the latter.
