Our Background

Our Club was started by a small group of 4WD enthusiasts in 1976 and has grown to become a cheerful and progressive club where you can find a variety of trips to suit your experience and appetite for excitement. We welcome members from all areas – you don’t need to be a Central Coast resident to join the club.

The aim of the Central Coast 4 Wheel Drive Club is to promote safe, responsible and environmentally friendly four-wheel driving. In achieving this aim, we bring together people who have like interests. We also contribute to track maintenance and clean-up projects in conjunction with State Forests and the National Parks and Wildlife service.

We currently have just over 250 members who own a variety of 4WD vehicles, attending our many and varied events. We are a child-friendly club that attracts people from all age groups. 

Our trips vary from local day trips to places like Stockton Beach and the Watagans, weekends away in locations such as Barrington Tops, Hill End, Deua National Park, as well as longer trips to the Victorian High Country, Fraser Island (K’gari) and the Outback. These vary from tent-only trips to caravan-friendly ones and include various levels and amount of four-wheel driving.

We have a monthly general meeting, which is held at The Entrance Leagues Club, 3 Bay Village Road, Bateau Bay, at 8 pm on the second Thursday of each month (except January).   All welcome – you don’t need to be a member, so please feel free to come along if you’re interested in joining the club. As well as conducting the necessary procedures for the smooth running of the club, the meetings are an opportunity to meet and socialise with other club members. Come and join us for a meal at the club before the meeting or stay and enjoy a catered light supper afterwards.
