Driver Training
Why do we do this?"Driver Training" provides bush safety, a better understanding of the environment and your vehicle. We want everyone to enjoy the bush and come home safe.
CC4WD Club has changed its Driver Training program to 3 stages, plus a ladies day.
- Stage 1 - Covers the Basic Training as per the Association Standards.
- Stage 2 - Preparation for the Associations Accreditation
- Stage 3 - Accreditation, either at one of the Associations Road Shows or during a planned inter Club Accreditation Day.
- Ladies Day – Informal ‘familiarisation’ day for women who may not drive the 4WD as their “every day drive”
Driver Training - Stage 1
It is essential that you know your vehicle and that you understand the Clubs requirements and guidelines before you can participate in Club events. Central Coast 4WD Club provides "basic" driver training knowledge transfer for all its members, new or old. This is held on a Sunday and starts a 8:30 AM sharp. The day consist of half a day of talk, question and answer, then videos. Some simple checks on vehicles and awareness of vehicle size, wheel base etc. Then a quick trip up the F3 to our test track at Freeman's Waterhole for some practice and guidance and finish about 3:30 - 4:00pm.
How to prepare for the day.
• Remember this is not a full blown driver training course.
• Best to bring along all the people who will travel with you .
• Bring along something for smoko/lunch and something to drink.
Driver Training - Stage 2
This builds on skills and knowledge obtained in Stage 1. It is completed over 2 days at the Club's lease near Dungog.

Ladies Day
This is an informal day for women to come along and familiarise themselves with their vehicle at their own pace. The aim is to give ladies who may not drive the 4WD as their every day drive, the opportunity to become more familiar and confident with their vehicle in a casual and relaxed environment. The day commences with a few simple vehicle awareness checks; tips and techniques discussion over morning tea; followed by a short drive on some E-D grade tracks; finishing with lunch and a round up discussion. The day is usually scheduled for a Sunday morning, meeting at the F3 services northbound at 8.30am or Cooranbong SES at 9am; bring morning tea and lunch.Ladies who wish to enhance their skills further should now be confident to attend the formal Stage 1 Basic training and proceed on from there.
